We, Fairfield Maritime Japan Co., Ltd., recognize that respecting the human rights of all individuals is a social responsibility that must be fulfilled as a corporation. Based on our corporate philosophy, we have established the Fairfield Maritime Japan Co., Ltd. Human Rights Policy (this “Policy”) as our highest-level policy concerning human rights. We will fulfill our responsibility to respect human rights by taking the human rights of all stakeholders involved in our business activities into full consideration and addressing any direct or indirect adverse human rights impacts that may be caused by any of our business activities.
This Policy demonstrates our responsibility regarding human rights initiatives and applies to all our officers and employees. We will also encourage all our business partners, including suppliers related our business, to support this Policy.
We respect internationally recognized human rights as set forth in laws and regulations including the International Bill of Human Rights, the International Labour Organization Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006, and the Children’s Rights and Business Principles. We conduct our business activities in accordance with the United Nation’s Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Furthermore, we comply with the laws and regulations applicable in the countries and regions where we operate.
We prohibit discrimination based on nationality, race, religion, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, or any other unjustifiable reason. We strive to prohibit excessive working hours, harassment, forced labor, and child labor, and we also respect freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining in accordance with the laws and regulations of each country and region, provide living wages exceeding the minimum wage, and ensure workplace safety and health.
We will continuously implement human rights due diligence as measures to identify actual or potential negative impacts on human rights arising from our business activities and value chain, and to prevent or minimize any such impacts. We will also appropriately disclose information regarding our human rights initiatives and their progress and results through our website and other channels.
If it becomes clear that we have directly or indirectly caused, contributed to, or been involved in any negative human rights impacts through our business activities, we will work to remedy and provide suitable and efficacious redress of such impacts through engaging in appropriate internal and external procedures. We will also implement effective complaint-handling procedures to ensure that appropriate remedies are available.
We will engage in dialogue and consultation with relevant stakeholders regarding our response to actual or potential adverse human rights impacts arising from our business activities, continuously improving and strengthening our efforts to respect human rights. We will also strive to minimize the risk of human rights violations arising from our business activities, whilst seeking advice from appropriately qualified external third-party organizations and experts.
We will provide appropriate education to our directors and employees to ensure that this Policy is integrated throughout our business activities and effectively implemented.
This Policy was approved at the Board of Directors meeting held on March 20, 2026.
