Fairchem Pathfinder Launching

September 14, 2023

In line with FCC’s commitment to remain at the forefront of delivering environmentally sustainable chemical tanker operations, we proudly launched the Fairchem Pathfinder on September 14. She is the second in the series of four dual-fuel LNG powered stainless steel chemical tankers to join our fleet and will be equipped with the same innovative LNG propulsion technology as her sister, the Fairchem Pioneer, which is scheduled to enter service in early November 2023.

Fighting Childhood Hunger

August 2023

On August 17th FCC employees volunteered with “Filling in the Blanks”, an organization that fights hunger for children from low income families by providing meals on weekends. Staff packed over 1300 meal bags and made a monetary donation to support the purchase of food and supplies. Filling in the Blanks anticipates to feed 7,000 children a week this fall.

Mission to Seafarers: TEAM FAIRFIELD

The strenuous 3-day challenge of mountains and stairs raised money and awareness for the MTS cause which provides assistance to seafarers worldwide. Fairchem Pioneer – Leading LNG Power

On April 7, FCC proudly launched the Fairchem Pioneer – Fairfield’s first LNG powered stainless steel chemical tanker. The innovative ship boasts LNG propulsion technology that significantly reduces carbon dioxide emissions by up to 25% compared to traditional marine fuels. LNG Moving Along

March 2023

We are happy to share our latest news with you. Our LNG tanks have arrived at the shipyard and are being installed on deck prior to the launching of our first LNG powered vessel on April 7. Utilizing this new fuel is a major step forward in FCC’s efforts to reduce our carbon footprint. The launching, this Spring, will be the first of 4 LNG vessels Fairfield Chemical Carriers has on order.

Delivery Day for the Fairchem Sunbird

We are excited to wish “fair winds and following seas” to the newly delivered Fairchem Sunbird.  She is Fairfield Chemical Carrier’s latest new build, a 25K vessel that is departing the shipyard on her maiden voyage.

What you see is a proud procession walking towards our two birds getting ready to leave the nest.  On the left is the Fairchem Sunbird, she was launched August 2nd.  On the right is her sister, the Fairchem Grutto.  She was delivered at the end of July and is currently on her maiden voyage.  We wish these two fledglings well!

World Ocean Day

Thank you to FCC staff who participated in the NAMEPA cleanup for World Ocean Day. The industrious group removed over 100 pounds of trash near our shores including: cigarette butts, plastic bottles, masks, and more. You have made our world a better place!

Fairchem Rooibos

April 2022

We are happy to add another vessel to our active fleet.  The 20K DWT Fairchem Rooibos has been delivered and is now sailing in the Far East.  The inset photo is a picture of her on delivery day.  If you look close, you can see the Fairchem Grutto under construction in the background.  We anticipate her delivery later in 2022.

It was a beautiful day at Fukuoka Shipbuilding for the naming and launching of the Fairchem Grutto.  We anticipate her delivery, along with her sister ship the Fairchem Sunbird, later in 2022.

Fairchem Restio and Crew

We welcome the new year with a new delivery.  The Fairchem Restio was added to the FCC lineup on January 14. She is the third sister ship in our South African flower class along with the Fairchem Fynbos, Fairchem Protea and the soon-to-be delivered Fairchem Rooibos.

Fairchem Rooibos

Confetti is in the air for The Fairchem Rooibos.  She was recently launched by Fukuoka Shipbuilding in Nagasaki, Japan and will be joining her sister vessels, the Fairchem Protea, Fairchem Fynbos and Fairchem Restio in the new year.  We look forward to adding her to our fleet.

NEW DELIVERY – Fairchem Fynbos

The Fairchem Fynbos officially joined the FCC Fleet on September 24, 2021. She will be our last new build vessel of 2021. For her maiden voyage she will be carrying a cargo of Sulphuric Acid across the Pacific Ocean, from Japan to Mexico. The Fairchem Fynbos is equipped with SMART ship technology that will assist with day-to-day vessel operations.

Fairchem Restio

August 31 turned out to be a beautiful day to watch the launching of the Fairchem Restio.  She a sister ship to the recently delivered Fairchem Protea and we expect to see her joining our fleet at the turn of the year.

WELCOME Fairchem Protea

Fairfield Chemical Carriers welcomes the Fairchem Protea to her fleet.  The 20K vessel was delivered on Fukuoka Shipbuilding and delivered on August 20.  She is the latest in the line of eco-friendly vessels that have been added to the FCC fleet.  Her first port of call will be Walvis Bay in Namibia.

LNG Powered

It is with great pleasure we announce that Fairfield Chemical Carriers has concluded a multi-vessel newbuilding program with Fukuoka Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., for the construction of 2 x 26,300 DWT stainless steel chemical tankers with options for an additional 4 vessels.   All vessels will have dual-fuel/LNG propulsion, 26 Duplex stainless steel cargo tanks, energy reducing improvements to hull design and equipment, and will be outfitted with a smart ship platform to further optimize performance and efficiency.  The official press release can be viewed here.

Our Latest Social Endeavor

In honor of World Ocean Day FCC staff in Wilton, CT teamed up with NAMEPA for a hands-on event to collect debris in the local waterways.  The crew, pictured above, picked up almost 100 pounds of trash from the Norwalk River and surrounding area.  We thank NAMEPA for hosting this event and all participating staff who navigated the mud and grime to make the world a little better.
